The Wrecking Crew Harley-Davidson
After a bit of digging around on the web I’ve finally found a little more about this bike and what a fabulous story it is. The guys at W&W Cycles www.wwag.com rode two Harleys in -40 degrees (circa minus 60 degrees taking the chill factor into account) up in the Northwest Territories in Canada. There is a fabulous video on their website that can also be found on You Tube – Ice Road Riders (On Harleys)
It appears that the bike is a 1948 HD panhead.
Maybe if I’d have spent a minute or two photoshopping out the shadow of the mannequin it might have looked a bit more realistic. It was a display at a Harley exhibition at MOSI in Manchester. Which was good because it saved me travelling to one of the poles of the earth in sub zero temperatures. I could just jump on the bus, hop off outside the Museum of Science and Industry. Pay the entrance fee. Take a few snaps. Go for a pint. And be home in time for tea.
