A tragic accident took place on Friday around 5:40 p.m. on NC 16 at Millersville Road in Alexander County, leading to the death of a motorcyclist, according to state troopers.
The incident involved a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2007 Audi A4. The motorcycle, operated by 35-year-old Samuel Jarrett Killian from Taylorsville, was attempting to turn left onto Millersville Road when it struck the northbound Audi.

Killian was thrown from the motorcycle and tragically died at the scene, according to the authorities.
A passenger on the motorcycle was also thrown off and was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
The 18-year-old driver of the Audi, also from Taylorsville, did not sustain any injuries in the accident.
The preliminary investigation by the NC State Highway Patrol suggested that there were no signs of impairment or speed being factors in the crash.
Consequently, no charges are expected to be filed.
During the investigation, the road was closed for around two hours.
