Hip Hop Artist Fights Back Against MTV After 50 YouTube Videos Removed Over Joke About Hustle Show Judge Ikka

Hip Hop Artist Fights Back Against MTV After 50 YouTube Videos Removed Over Joke About Hustle Show Judge Ikka

MTV Hustle in controversy. | Image: Instagram

MTV Hustle was celebrated until the trending hashtag #ShameOnMTVHUSTLE emerged online. The issue began when YouTuber Rohan Cariappa, a Hip-Hop content creator from Bengaluru, posted a video criticizing judge Ikka for wearing a Harley Davidson jacket on the Royal Enfield-sponsored program. This caused friction with MTV Hustle, resulting in the removal of several related videos from his channel. The situation intensified when Rohan announced the channel was allegedly forcibly shutting down his YouTube account.

Rohan Carriapa’s YouTube channel to face closure on December 7

The hashtag #ShameOnMTVHUSTLE gained traction on Monday as Rohan detailed the incident on his social media. On November 30, he tweeted about it, tagging Royal Enfield with the message, “Sorry! Main toh na sehta”.

Shortly after, Rohan shared another post tagging YouTube and YouTube India, reporting that his videos had received 50 strikes. He expressed frustration, stating, “My videos are being unlawfully removed thanks to these egotistical maniacs heading major companies. Kindly look into it, need your intervention.” He also shared a message indicating, “Hustle videos struck down! YouTube might get deleted”.

This situation escalated on Sunday when Rohan posted an Instagram Story with the caption “50+ Strikes”. He followed up with a screenshot from his YouTube page stating, “Your video was removed due to copyright removal request and your YouTube channel is scheduled to be removed on December 7.” In a dramatic post, he wrote, “The channel shuts down on the 7th … Killswitch aur Danish ke baad mera bhi elimination ho raha hai (I have been eliminated after Killswitch and Danish).”

For those unaware, Danish and Killswitch were contestants in the show.

The internet rallies behind Rohan Carriapa

Following Rohan’s post, social media users quickly expressed their support for him, generating the hashtag #ShameOnMTVHUSTLE. One user on X stated, “MTV has issued more than 50 strikes against Rohan Cariappa’s channel, and they are terminating it just because they couldn’t handle honest feedback! Shame on MTV.”

Another user commented, “The entire dhh community stands with @cariappa_rohan. We won’t allow that fake show to ruin Dhh #shameonmtvhustle”.

“MTV Hustle is playing underhanded games now. They’ve started sending bots. You run a hip-hop show, but you’re acting contrary to the values of hip-hop. This behavior will not be accepted,” stated another user.

“Remove @cariappa_rohan’s videos ASAP! #ShameonMTVHustle This is so disheartening #ShameonMTVHustle They have no idea how much his channel has contributed to the Indian hip-hop scene,” another user expressed disbelief.

Rohan Carriapa reflects: “It was a fun video I would have taken down willingly”

According to The Indian Music Diaries on Instagram, Rohan mentioned that the videos in question were fun and that he would have willingly deleted them if MTV Hustle had simply asked. “I had also released 7-8 other videos praising the show, and they took those down as well,” he shared.

Addressing the show directly, Cariappa remarked, “Your tagline is ‘hip hop don’t stop’, and you claim to be the best hip-hop show in India while acting against the fundamental values of hip-hop. Hip-hop emerged as a genre for expression and values freedom of speech, yet this show and its creators seem to contravene that principle.”

The Chautauqua-Kinzua Harley Owners Group (C-K HOG), which is based at Jamestown Harley Davidson, recently made a generous contribution to the Chautauqua County Little Free Project. This donation included a variety of non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, and other essentials for their pantry, as well as a significant number of toys for their Christmas program, all aimed at assisting local individuals and families in need.

The Little Free Project was initiated in 2020, during the early days of the pandemic, by Beth Anderson and her children, Lily and Richard III Speadling, who were seeking ways to support their community. Initially starting with one pantry filled with donated goods, the initiative has now expanded to include 40 pantries in the surrounding area. Although the pantries may be small, they symbolize hope for those who utilize them. C-K HOG has been a strong supporter of the family’s ongoing efforts to aid the community, frequently donating throughout the year and collecting toys at each meeting for Christmas donations.

For those interested in contributing to the welfare of those less fortunate in our area, the Chautauqua County Little Free Project maintains a Facebook page.

5 Renowned Companies That Pulled Back from ‘Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ Initiatives

Numerous major U.S. companies are retracting their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, with Walmart being the latest to align with this trend amid increasing pressure from conservative factions.

Supporters of DEI contend that these initiatives aim to rectify historical wrongs and systemic disparities. Conversely, conservatives argue that DEI fosters division, resulting in these initiatives facing criticism from conservative commentators and state legislatures nationwide.

A prominent critic of corporate DEI policies is Robby Starbuck, who actively shares updates on companies’ DEI decisions on his social media platforms, X and Instagram.

State legislators and governors have enacted resolutions to limit DEI initiatives within higher education and public sector institutions.

For instance, Republican Utah Governor Spencer Cox enacted legislation earlier this year that bans diversity training and inclusive hiring practices at universities and in state government, further expanding the list of states prohibiting such programs.

In terms of higher education, the board of governors at the University of North Carolina voted to remove DEI requirements and roles, signifying a growing resistance against DEI principles in educational institutions nationwide.

WALMART CEO ADDRESSES ROLLBACK OF DEI PROGRAMS: ‘GOING TO CONTINUE TO MAKE THE BEST DECISIONS WE CAN’

This trend has also affected the private sector, with significant companies retracting their commitments following the U.S. government’s prohibition of affirmative action in college admissions in July 2023.

Numerous firms encountered and faced lawsuits related to their DEI policies.

Walmart

Walmart, the leading employer in America with over 1.6 million employees and a market capitalization of $800 billion, revealed on Monday its decision to move away from DEI initiatives.

“We’ve been on a journey and know we aren’t perfect, but every decision comes from a place of wanting to foster a sense of belonging, to open doors to opportunities for all our associates, customers and suppliers and to be a Walmart for everyone,” the company stated regarding this decision.

Moving forward, Walmart will no longer engage in the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) Corporate Equality Index, will not offer LGBTQ-related products online, discontinue racial equity training with the Racial Equity Institute, and will end its partnership with the Racial Equity Center, a program initiated in 2020 with a five-year objective.

Additionally, the company will cease using the term “Latinx,” which is a gender-neutral reference to individuals of Latin descent.

Molson Coors

FOX Business obtained a letter from Coors indicating that the company’s executives decided in March to broaden their perspective on DEI policies to ensure that all “employees feel they are included.” The company did not provide comments beyond the details in the letter.

“We are making sure our executive performance incentives are tied to business success, removing aspirational representation goals starting next year,” company leaders noted in a memo received by FOX Business.

Molson Coors has also discontinued its involvement in the HRC Corporate Equality Index.

CATERPILLAR MAKES POLICY CHANGES IN YET ANOTHER CORPORATE DEI ROLLBACK

Ford Motor Company

Ford Motor Company, based in Michigan, announced in August its decision to scale back its DEI initiatives. According to a memo leaked by Starbuck, the Fortune 500 company also opted out of the HRC Corporate Equality Index and “best places to work” rankings. Furthermore, the company clarified that they do not “employ hiring quotas or link compensation to the achievement of particular diversity objectives.”

In an email to employees, CEO Jim Farley stated, “We will direct our energy and resources toward serving our customers, teams, and communities instead of publicly addressing the myriad polarizing issues of our times.”

He added, “Certainly, there will be moments when we express our views on fundamental issues if we believe our input can lead to a constructive impact.”

Harley-Davidson

The renowned motorcycle manufacturer announced in August its decision to retract DEI efforts shortly before Ford made a similar announcement.

The motorcycle company, established 120 years ago, posted a statement on their X account regarding the choice.

“We remain committed to engaging all members of our community as we embark on this journey together as one Harley-Davidson. United We Ride,” the company proclaimed.

The company expressed its intent to “assess all sponsorships and affiliations” it currently holds.

They expressed disappointment at the divisive discourse on social media over recent weeks, which they believe undermines the unity of the Harley-Davidson community.

Moreover, the company revealed, “We have not had a DEI function since April 2024, and we currently do not have a DEI function in place. We do not utilize hiring quotas, nor do we maintain supplier diversity spending targets.”

Lowe’s

The home improvement retailer scaled back its DEI efforts coinciding with the changes made by other firms. Following the lead of Ford Motor Company and Walmart, Lowe’s withdrew from participation in surveys conducted by the Human Rights Campaign.

Additionally, Lowe’s reportedly stopped sponsoring and attending various events, including Pride parades and other celebrations not directly related to its business objectives.

Starbuck claimedcredit for Lowe’s decisions, asserting on X that these changes occurred after he exerted pressure on the company, threatening to “uncover” their “woke policies.”

Other companies that have rolled back their DEI initiatives include John Deere, Tractor Supply, Caterpillar, and John Forman.

Contributions for this report were made by FOX Business’ Breck Dumas.

Lemmy Kilmister’s Remains to be Showcased at His Beloved Strip Club

Lemmy Kilmister’s Remains to be Showcased at His Beloved Strip Club Lemmy Kilmister, Photo: Shutterstock

Lemmy Kilmister the iconic leader of Motörhead, passed away nearly nine years ago, yet his legacy continues to dominate headlines.

In August this year, a procession of 55 Harley Davidson motorcycles transported a bust containing some of his ashes to Rock City in Nottingham, where it is currently displayed. In a new development, the famed London strip club “Stringfellows,” established by the late Peter Stringfellow in 1980, will become the final resting place for another part of the legendary rock star’s ashes, as reported by Deadline.

On December 18, the ashes will find their permanent home at the club, where they will be housed in an urn designed to resemble Lemmy’s iconic cowboy hat. The occasion will be celebrated with a ceremony featuring a guest appearance from Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell.

In a 2016 interview with The Hollywood Times, Lemmy was asked where he preferred to unwind when not on tour.

“At ‘Stringfellows’ in London. It’s an elite strip club. You’re always welcomed with open arms there. I’ve known the owner, Piter, since 1964,” he shared during the interview.

“Stringfellows held a unique significance for Lemmy. He adored the rock ‘n’ roll vibe that Piter inspired in the club, appreciated the relaxed ambiance, and certainly enjoyed the view. I know he would be pleased to return to one of his favorite spots on Earth,” stated Motorhead’s manager, Tod Singerman.

Lemmy’s ashes were also scattered at the Wacken Open Air metal festival in Germany, and this year, part of them was placed in the “Rainbow Bar” in Los Angeles. Additionally, the ashes on display at Rock City will be showcased annually at the adjacent Bloodstock Festival.

Five Must-Have Bikes for Your Bucket List That You Can Buy Today

All motorcycles are incredible, but a few truly shine in a sea of otherwise generic machines. These are the bikes that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.

With today’s increasingly stringent emissions regulations reshaping the motorcycle industry, larger engine displacements have become the norm, and electronic enhancements are playing a bigger role in daily riding. While we highly encourage any motorcycle enthusiast to seize the chance to ride a classic two-stroke or a vintage British bike, here are five contemporary motorcycles available for purchase now that you absolutely must try before you retire your helmet. Given the fast-paced changes in the market, don’t hesitate to seize these opportunities while they last…

Ducati Scrambler

Ducatis carry a certain allure, particularly the models featuring their iconic 90-degree V-twin engine and desmodromic valves.

Recently, the Italian manufacturer has shifted focus away from this classic format. The V4 engines introduced in MotoGP two decades ago have gradually seeped into their range of street bikes, while even the V-twins now often feature conventional valve operation, which results in longer service intervals and reduced maintenance costs.

Some ‘Desmo’ twins still exist, like the Monster, but if you seek the most traditional experience, hop on the Scrambler while it’s still available. It showcases all the quintessential Ducati features, featuring an air-cooled, 803cc version of the V-twin engine complete with the signature Ducati valvetrain.

It’s a fun, lightweight, and highly accessible entry point into the world of Ducatis, reminiscent of when motorcycles were simpler and devoid of radiators. Though Euro5 regulations have muted some of the Scrambler’s sound and character, it remains one of the few air-cooled motorcycles available today—so take it for a spin before they become a thing of the past.

Check out our review of the latest Ducati Scrambler here.

Harley-Davidson Fat Boy

Five Must-Have Bikes for Your Bucket List That You Can Buy Today

Do you recall the disdain many bikers had for Harleys?

Admittedly, two decades ago, they were viewed as slow, pricey, and technologically outdated, yet they possessed a unique character and offered a riding experience that garnered a dedicated fanbase. It’s unfortunate they faced such criticism, as these American icons needed to be ridden to be truly understood. That’s why we believe that riding a Harley remains a bucket-list item. Contemporary Harleys are markedly more sophisticated than their predecessors, while still retaining a distinctiveness that continues to provoke unwarranted backlash from those who have (usually) never experienced one.

We’re featuring the Fat Boy, one of Harley-Davidson’s most iconic designs, but feel free to choose whichever model you prefer. Better yet, why not go full HOG (get it?) and rent a Fat Boy for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure down Route 66? Sure, it will cost a pretty penny, but it’s a bucket list experience, right?

Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa

Suzuki Hayabusa

The late 1990s marked an era when power and top speed were everything.

Kawasaki’s ZZR1100 was among the world’s first hyperbikes, boasting a top speed of 180mph. The Honda Blackbird followed, and then came Suzuki’s GSX1300R ‘Hayabusa’ in 1999, surpassing them all.

Claiming a 200mph potential, the ‘Busa was named after a peregrine falcon that famously preys on blackbirds. It was designed to be the fastest bike on the market and showcased unique streamlined bodywork that sparked debate yet propelled it closer to its headline-grabbing top speed.

And headlines were indeed made, although often not in a positive light. With governments stepping in to impose power restrictions, Japanese manufacturers struck a deal to halt the race and limit their bikes to 186mph. The Hayabusa survived, but only the first two years of production saw it at full throttle.

As tastes evolved at the turn of the century, lighter and more nimble sportbikes rose in popularity, pushing R1s, GSX-Rs, and Ninjas to the forefront while the Japanese brands phased out their hyperbikes following every new emissions law.

Except for Suzuki, which even revamped its iconic Hayabusa in 2022.

The latest ‘Busa, having undergone a facelift and equipped with an array of electronic enhancements, offers a more refined experience than the original models. It remains long and hefty compared to modern sportbikes and is less versatile than an adventure motorcycle, but there’s still something truly special about riding a 190bhp inline-four. The ‘Busa is a legend, and even as it nears its twilight years, it delivers a riding experience that’s unforgettable.

Discover more in our review of the latest Suzuki Hayabusa on our website.

Triumph Rocket 3

Triumph Rocket 3

Launched in 2004, the Triumph Rocket 3 (originally Rocket III) made waves as the world’s largest capacity production motorcycle. With its 2.3-liter three-cylinder engine, this powerful British cruiser attracted a new demographic to Triumph, including many former ‘Busa enthusiasts who understood that bigger is often better. Although it’s large and heavy, the relatively low seat height makes it less daunting than you might expect.

The second-generation Rocket arrived in 2019. Where the original models were rather rudimentary, the latest Rocket 3 boasts a much higher level of sophistication. The engine continues to be the focal point, now complemented by modern electronics for a refined riding experience.

Nonetheless, the engine is still phenomenal – arguably more impressive than ever. With 221Nm of torque available at 4000rpm, you can choose a gear and ride that torque curve, while the engine has been substantially upgraded to deliver 180bhp from an impressive 2.5 liters. It’s undeniably a unique motorcycle – making it one you absolutely have to try sometime.

Zero DSR/X

Zero DSRX

Electric motorcycles often receive a bad reputation, usually from those who haven’t tried them, but we advocate giving them a chance before casting judgment.

While they do come with limitations—particularly regarding range and charging times (not to mention the price)—we can assure you that they are incredibly fun to ride. The Zero DSR/X stands out as a top contender among electric bikes, and the immediate hit of 225Nm of torque is something that will stick in your memory for a long time. The delivery of power and torque is unlike any traditional internal combustion engine bike, and while we understand why some riders may view the lack of gears and engine noise as undesirable, it’s a completely different experience that delivers instantaneous power.

In recent times, several electric motorcycle manufacturers have gone under. The market for powerful, high-priced electric options appears to be slow to grow, but the American brand Zero remains resilient. We could have suggested a classic Guzzi (air-cooled and shaft-driven V-twin) as a must-ride bike, but experiencing a powerful electric motorcycle is an opportunity too unique to overlook. If nothing else, we encourage you to book a test ride, engage Sport mode, and twist that throttle. Whether or not electric biking is the future is still up for debate, and they might not be around forever—so at least try one before passing judgment.

Lemmy’s Ashes to Be Exhibited at Stringfellow’s Strip Club in London

A portion of Lemmy’s ashes is set to be displayed at Stringfellow’s strip club in London.

The legendary frontman of Motörhead, hailed as one of the most significant figures in the history of metal, passed away in December 2015 at the age of 70, shortly after learning about his cancer diagnosis. Nearly nine years later, his ashes are still in the spotlight.

It has now been announced that a portion of his ashes will be permanently showcased in the Stringfellow’s strip club in the UK capital. The venue, established by the late businessman and nightclub owner Peter Stringfellow, was a favored haunt of the Motörhead frontman.

The ashes are expected to arrive on December 18, placed in an urn crafted to resemble the iconic cavalry hat worn by the singer and bassist. A ceremony will commemorate the permanent addition to the venue, with Lemmy’s bandmate, guitarist Phil Campbell, in attendance.

“Stringfellow’s always held a special place in Lemmy’s heart. He adored the rock’n’roll spirit Peter infused into the club, appreciated the laid-back atmosphere, and certainly enjoyed the view,” stated Motörhead manager Todd Singerman (via Louder). “I know he’s thrilled to return to one of his favorite spots on Earth!”

There’s always a warm welcome. I’ve known the owner, Peter, since 1964,” he noted.

This isn’t the first time Lemmy’s ashes have drawn attention due to their display location. Earlier this summer, for example, a group of 55 Harley Davidson bikers escorted a bust of his ashes to Nottingham Rock City, and they’re slated to return to Bloodstock Festival annually.

Additionally, some ashes were sent to the Los Angeles Rainbow Bar & Grill, while others were scattered at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany. Moreover, Metallica’s James Hetfield has even incorporated some of the ashes into a spade tattoo on his middle finger.

In other news regarding Lemmy, it was confirmed back in February that plans to erect a statue of the Motörhead frontman in his birthplace had received approval from Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
