FRANKLIN, Ky. – Recent updates have emerged regarding a deadly collision that occurred on Sunday night in Simpson County.
In a statement, the Kentucky State Police Post 3 reported receiving alerts just prior to 7:30 p.m. about a two-vehicle fatal accident in Franklin.
KSP public affairs officer, Trooper Katan Parker, confirmed that the tragic incident took place near the Flying J Travel Center on Nashville Road, just off Interstate 65.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2024 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by 33-year-old Eric Green from Bowling Green, was traveling north on Nashville Road.
Authorities informed that a tractor-trailer driven by Nugusse Yonathan, 29, from Burien, Washington, was exiting the Flying J Travel Center onto Nashville Road when it crossed into Green’s path.
Sadly, Green was pronounced dead at the scene by the Simpson County coroner.
On Monday, a motorcyclist tragically became the second road fatality in the county within a span of three days.
James Dicicco 57 from Evergreen, lost control while navigating a curve on Princess Ann Road, according to Sgt. K. McVicker. His motorcycle veered off the roadway, resulting in Dicicco being ejected from his 2013 Harley Davidson.
The accident took place in clear view of a graveside service at Macedonia Church just before 2:30 p.m.
Sgt. McVicker reported that this year has seen a total of 29 traffic fatalities in Columbus and Bladen counties. Last year at this time, the death toll from traffic accidents in both counties stood at 30.
The prior fatal incident occurred on Friday (Dec. 13), when former policeman Clay Hagood, who served in Whiteville and Tabor City, was killed in a head-on collision near Hallsboro.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A motorcyclist from Winter Haven was fatally injured on Interstate 275 on Friday after colliding with another vehicle, officials reported.
The 47-year-old man was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on I-275 in the outer lane, just north of milepost 43, around 2:40 p.m. in Hillsborough County.
Concurrently, a 49-year-old woman from Lithia was operating a Tesla Model 3 northbound on the I-275 entrance ramp beside the motorcycle.
As detailed in a report by the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist crossed the gore area of the entrance ramp and struck the left rear of the Tesla.
Following the collision, the motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.
The Tesla driver and her 19-year-old female passenger sustained no injuries.

CENTERVILLE Utah, Nov. 23, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A motorcycle rider has tragically lost his life following a collision on Legacy Highway last night.
“At around 9:20 PM, a white Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading south on Legacy Highway close to Parrish Lane in Centerville,” reported a Utah Highway Patrol news release. “Witnesses indicated that the biker was speeding just before the accident.”
“The motorcyclist was unable to navigate the turn, crashing into the cable barrier in the center median, which resulted in the rider being thrown from the motorcycle.”
The rider, a 31-year-old man, “was taken to a local hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.”

Arlington police report that Kelly is charged with intoxication manslaughter, collision involving death, and tampering.

A resident of Middletown Township lost his life in a motorcycle accident that occurred on Sunday evening, as reported by Bucks County Coroner Patti Campi.
Jonathon Benner, aged 34, was declared dead following the incident at the intersection of Bensalem Boulevard and Fernwood Avenue, according to the coroner.
Bensalem Township police arrived at the crash site at 6:42 p.m., according to Patch.com.
