Jimmy Buckley is ready for some banter with the lads, but he’ll make a grand entrance at their Pints in a Field event on January 30—riding in on his Harley!
The beloved entertainer is set to join a diverse lineup of performers at The 2 Johnnies’ Pints In A Field concert at St Anne’s Park, Dublin, on Saturday, June 7.
Among the acts are the Dutch eurodance band Vengaboys, famous for songs like Boom Boom Boom Boom, We Like To Party, and We’re Going To Ibiza.
Swedish artist Basshunter will also take the stage, performing hits such as Now You’re Gone.
“I’m serious about having my Harley Davidson on stage as part of my rider,” Jimmy mentions to Magazine+.
“I genuinely want to ride it onto the stage at The 2 Johnnies event in St Anne’s Park. It’s my way of unwinding between performances, and I’m excited about it.”

“I genuinely can’t wait for the show; it’s going to be something special. I’ll be bringing my own band along, and we’ll deliver an energetic and lively set that I hope will get the crowd moving in the park.”
Johnny Smacks and Johnny B are fans of Buckley, also a member of The Three Amigos, having featured him on their popular podcast last year.
“Doing the podcast with those guys was a riot,” Jimmy shares. “They had a great laugh giving me a hard time, but I enjoyed every bit of it. They get my humor.”
“I even told them that Daniel O’Donnell cautioned me against joining. I mentioned how Daniel said, ‘I can’t tell which one is Johnny and which one is Johnny.’”
“That interview garnered a huge amount of listeners and views, and it introduced me to a fresh audience as well. They’re good to me and always great fun, but they also give me a right slagging. Once they commented that I have the face of a priest and the body of a cobra. It’s all in good spirits, and while they sometimes tread close to the line, I haven’t had to reach out to my lawyer… yet!”
Hailing from Doon in Limerick and now residing in Athenry, Co Galway, Jimmy jokes about being “the odd one out” among The Vengaboys and Basshunter on stage.
“The 2 Johnnies say I have the longest list of demands. They claim on my rider, I’ve requested a golden statue of Andrea Corr in my dressing room, a bathtub filled with Bollinger champagne, and that the staff must wear Roman togas.”
“Additionally, they mentioned I’m adamant about a paternity test to find out if Basshunter is actually my son. I love that witty banter.”
“Participating in the Pints In A Field concert is fantastic publicity for me as it exposes me to a new audience that likely hasn’t seen my shows before. However, I also know that many of my fans will attend the concert too, since The 2 Johnnies have their unique niche and broader appeal, which is quite a feat to achieve.”

“They appeal to the Dublin crowd while also connecting with the country audience. They truly understand the country music scene, having been raised in Tipperary.”
Each year, Jimmy hosts a large trip to Spain with hundreds of his fans, and he playfully shares that he plans to invite The 2 Johnnies next year to help them gain international exposure.
He chuckles, “Johnny Smacks and Johnny B are doing wonderfully in Ireland, but I might assist them in breaking into the international market by featuring them on my Craic on the Costa trip next October.”
“Johnny Smacks’ in-laws traveled with us last year, and the two boys teased me about how I went out of my way for them and that I pampered them on both sides. I would be delighted to help the two Johnnies get their big break on the continent.”
As he reflects on the upcoming year, Jimmy expresses excitement about kicking it off with another Irish concert tour alongside Robert Mizzell and Patrick Feeney as The Three Amigos.
The Three Amigos will be touring nationwide starting January 1, including shows at Cork Opera House on January 6 & 7, Ulster Hall in Belfast on January 11, UCH in Limerick on January 16, Millennium Forum in Derry on January 17, The Helix in Dublin on January 18, and INEC in Killarney on January 30.
