HUNT – Featuring Harry Hunt | Brooks Bulletin

HUNT – Featuring Harry Hunt | Brooks Bulletin
image description

Hunt – Harry Hunt, a resident of Brooks, departed from this life on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, after a courageous fight against cancer, surrounded by his beloved family. He was 67 years old, born in Badger’s Quay, NL, to Arthur and Eleanor Hunt. Harry was a cherished partner to Jane Romanowich and a devoted father to his children: Jeff (Julie), Justin, and Jennifer (Brian). He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, and also had numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins (indeed, a lively bunch). A true Harley Davidson aficionado, Harry was often seen in his black leather vest, taking pride in his two Harley motorcycles and his collection of miniature bikes. He had a passion for travel and enjoyed driving adventures. After relocating to Brooks from the NWT, he explored much of southern Alberta, always eager for new journeys. Harry was a kind-hearted soul and an exceptional individual, leaving behind enduring memories of joy and love with both family and friends alike. He was truly unique, and his absence will be deeply felt. Special thanks to the team at the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Society, your kindness is invaluable. Additionally, our gratitude goes to the staff and doctors at the Brooks Health Centre. Donations to the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated https://donate.cancer.ca/page/ca-daffodil. Funeral Services are set to take place at the Brooks United Church on Thursday, April 3rd at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Esther Crews officiating. Interment will follow at the Brooks Cemetery. Live Streaming of the Funeral Services will be accessible to the public. You can view the Funeral Service by selecting “Live Video” in the upper right corner of the Smith Funeral Home’s Website or by clicking the blue “Click Here” link just below recent obituaries. Troy L. Greenier

Troy Lewis Greenier, aged 79, of Harbor Springs, peacefully passed away on February 6, 2025, at McLaren Hospital in Petoskey.

Born on May 3, 1945, in Petoskey to Russell and Jennie (Wardell) Greenier, Troy was raised in Harbor Springs.

An avid outdoorsman, Troy cherished activities like hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed cigars by the campfire and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, eagerly anticipating the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. Troy was also a passionate bowler, and nothing brought him more joy than watching his children and grandchildren excel in sports. A quiet man with a love for reading, he treasured time spent with family and never missed a chance to dance.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley Greenier.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of fifty-two years, Joyce (Bellant), along with daughters Kelley (Eugene) from River Vale, New Jersey, and Heidi (Robert) from Punta Gorda, Florida; twin sons Nelson (Jessica) from Johannesburg, Michigan, and Vincent (Moon) from Sharjah, UAE; ten grandchildren: Liam, Brooke, Robert, Kaylee, Josephine, James Troy, Logan, Lucas, Peyton, and Jaelyn; two step-grandchildren: Holly and Treyton; a sister, Judy (John) from Southgate, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
