Phoenix Business Provides Frustrating Runaround, Fails to Return Vintage Golf Cart Parts

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ — A man from Prescott Valley aimed to do something special for his wife: restore a vintage golf cart.

However, he ran into a snag when a Phoenix tire and wheel shop consistently gave him the runaround, prompting the Let ABC15 Know/Better Business Bureau volunteer team to intervene.

Don and his wife had embarked on a project to refurbish a golf cart together.

“My wife purchased this 1968 Harley Davidson golf cart in March 2023,” Don shared.

His initial plan involved having the chrome parts of the cart re-chromed. “This is vintage chrome that you can’t just go buy,” he added.

He found a Phoenix tire and wheel shop that agreed to handle the re-chroming. “The shop owner promised to finish the job within two weeks,” Don noted.

That was back in August 2023, but those two weeks stretched into months. “I kept asking when my parts would be ready, and he kept saying, ‘soon,’” Don recounted.

For months, Don received neither his re-chromed parts nor clear answers from the business owner. “I need them now because I’m ready to get this project rolling,” he stated.

By August 2024, Don was still persistently reaching out to the business owner for what rightfully belonged to him. Tragically, he now had to continue the project alone, as his wife had passed away just a month prior.

“My wife passed away in August and never got to see the golf cart refurbished,” he reflected.

Finally, in January 2025, Don contacted Let ABC15 Know for assistance, and volunteer Andrew stepped up. “Andrew was fantastic; he kept in touch with me throughout the process,” Don praised.

Andrew successfully mediated the situation, enabling Don to recover his chrome parts and take them to another shop to complete the restoration.

Problem resolved!

“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Andrew for taking on this case; it was truly a blessing!” Don expressed.

Although Don was referred to the business by someone he trusted, he has learned the importance of checking online and BBB reviews.

Despite his gratitude for retrieving the chrome parts, he remains disappointed at the delayed service and is heartbroken that his wife never got to see the finished cart.

“I just wanted to do something special for her, especially after she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer,” Don said, becoming emotional.

Determined to complete the golf cart, Don vowed to inform ABC15 when it’s finished.

Fan cautions Harley-Davidson that it could go out of business soon without necessary changes

HARLEY-Davidson has been cautioned that it could lose business if significant alterations are not made following the unveiling of its 2025 lineup.

Despite this, the legendary company insists that it produces the “best damn motorcycles in the world.”

On Friday, Harley-Davidson finally revealed its 2025 motorcycles.

However, the response from motorbike enthusiasts has been mixed.

A significant concern highlighted is the pricing of the newly introduced and refreshed motorcycles this year.

A frustrated individual voiced on social media: “There’s no reason prices can’t be lowered.

“All the other manufacturers are managing it; why not Harley?

“Sales figures are significantly down [while] Indian’s sales are increasing.

“If this trend continues, Harley may find itself out of business as average middle-class consumers will find them unaffordable.”

Another rider remarked there was “no way” he would purchase a new Harley this year.

He added that it would be “more sensible to buy older models for ten grand less.”

Additionally, there was some pushback following Harley‘s promotion of its 2025 Road Glide on social networks.

The company claimed the model features a “powerful Milwaukee-eight 117 V-twin engine, supple adjustable suspension, and sharknose fairing engineered to slice through the wind.”

The 2025 Road Glide is advertised with a starting price of $27,999.

But one user cautioned: “Well Harley, you’re headed for trouble.

“The only factory touring bike is a street glide with a trunk and two speakers priced at $31k. You seem to have forgotten your customers.”

Yahoo! Finance reported on Tuesday that Morgan Stanley raised concerns about the company facing “long-standing affordability challenges.”

What are the new and refreshed Harley-Davidson motorcycles for 2025?

The 2025 model lineup features:

The Street Glide Ultra for extended touring and the Pan America 1250 ST adventure sport motorcycle.

Harley-Davidson has also refreshed six classic Cruiser models for 2025: Low Rider S; Low Rider ST; Breakout; Heritage Classic; Fat Boy; and Street Bob.

The brand’s Sportster S has received updates as well.

A range of limited-production Custom Vehicle Operation (CVO) motorcycles are included in the collection, featuring four models: CVO Street Glide; CVO Road Glide; CVO Road Glide ST; and CVO Pan America.

The motorcycle maker emphasized that these new models round out the collection of 2025 Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring, Cruiser, Sport, Adventure Touring, and Trike motorcycles.

Morgan Stanley’s analysts indicated that “weak consumer confidence might hinder demand recovery.”

This insight follows the closure of several Harley-Davidson dealerships throughout 2024 for various reasons.

TOUGH STANCE

But the company stated on Friday after the launch of its new models: “For over 120 years, we’ve crafted the best damn motorcycles in the world.

“We’ve persevered through wars, economic downturns, and many trying times.”

The all-new 2025 model range includes the Street Glide Ultra designed for long-distance touring, perfect for riders seeking exploration and adventure.

Harley-Davidson has also rejuvenated six classic Cruiser models for 2025: Low Rider S; Low Rider ST; Breakout; Heritage Classic; Fat Boy; and Street Bob.

ARNIE’S BIKE

Its iconic Fat Boy was famously portrayed as the motorbike of choice by toughman Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Harley’s Sportster S has also received enhancements with an upgraded suspension system to ensure a more comfortable ride.

Harley-Davidson claimed regarding the Sportster S that riders will enjoy “unleashing on-demand torque for an electrifying rush of acceleration and excitement.

“Its lightweight build, technology features, and striking design cater to both experienced and new riders eager to stand out on a motorcycle that deviates from traditional aesthetics.”

Additionally, there is a collection of limited production Custom Vehicle Operation (CVO) models, offering both luxury and performance.

The CVO collection’s 26th annual lineup features four super-premium motorcycles: CVO Street Glide; CVO Road Glide; CVO Road Glide ST; and CVO Pan America.

Harley-Davidson closures in 2024

There are over 650 Harley-Davidson dealerships across America.

However, several stores shut down for various reasons throughout 2024, not always providing a clear explanation.

Here’s a summary of some Harley-Davidson locations that closed last year and their reasons:

The San Francisco location closed in June after operating for 110 years due to ‘chaos’ caused by new management.

Miracle City Harley-Davidson in Titusville, Florida, closed in September without offering a reason for closure.

Harley-Davidson’s historic location in New York City closed on September 28, citing economic issues.

Reiman’s Harley-Davidson dealership in Kewanee, Illinois, ceased operations in October after the owners sold the business to the Walter Brothers Harley Davidson dealership in Peoria, Illinois.

Furthermore, the dealership in West Bend, Wisconsin, temporarily closed for the season from November 2 until April 1, 2025.

Atlanta Harley-Davidson enthusiastically stated on social media: “Unleash the throttle on new models featuring completely new factory custom paint schemes, redesigned and re-tuned suspensions, larger engines, technology upgrades, heated handgrips, and much more.”

Harley-Davidson Reports ‘No Impact’ on Business After Suspected Cyber Attack

Harley-Davidson the renowned US motorcycle manufacturer, has responded to allegations that cybercriminals infiltrated its network and accessed the personal information of approximately 66,000 customers.

Recently, the notorious hacking group 888 claimed to have obtained 66,700 entries of customer information following a data breach.

In a post on a well-known hacking forum, it was stated that the stolen data comprises “First Name, Last Name, Full Name, Address, City, State, Zip Code, Email Address, Mobile Phone, Home Phone, Email Preference, SMS Preference, VIN, Vehicle Make, Vehicle Model, Vehicle Year, Sale Date, Warranty Exp Date, Last Service Date, among others.”

888 also shared a sample of the data, which included several lines of information pertaining to alleged Harley-Davidson customers. Cyber Daily could not authenticate the legitimacy of the leaked data.

In a succinct statement, Harley-Davidson stated that preliminary investigations indicate there has been no adverse effect.

“We have conducted a comprehensive investigation and found no evidence of any impact on the Motor Company,” said Harley-Davidson.

“While we continue our investigation, we do not anticipate any change in this conclusion.”

888 is part of the Cyber N—–s group, known for being led by the infamous leaker IntelBroker. The group has previously claimed responsibility for the breaches of several prominent firms, including Shell, Heineken, Accenture, Shopify, and Microsoft ANZ.

However, the credibility of 888’s data leak claims has been challenged in the past, as numerous companies on that list have confirmed that the breaches were either false or exaggerated.

Accenture stated in June that 888’s claims regarding a data leak were untrue, citing only three individuals affected compared to the 32,000 reported, while Shopify denied that any breach took place.

Microsoft also verified that no sensitive information was compromised in the alleged breach.

Conversely, the remainder of the Cyber N—–s group maintains a more favorable reputation.

Most recently, IntelBroker reported a significant supply chain attack on Cisco, claiming to have stolen extensive amounts of data linked to the company and its clients.

The alleged stolen data includes “Github projects, Gitlab Projects, SonarQube projects, source code, hard-coded credentials, certificates, customer SRCs, Cisco Confidential Documents, Jira tickets, API tokens, AWS Private buckets, Cisco Technology SRCs, Docker Builds, Azure Storage buckets, Private & Public keys, SSL Certificates, Cisco Premium Products, and more!”

IntelBroker listed several companies that purportedly “had their production source codes taken,” including Vodafone Australia, National Australia Bank (NAB), Microsoft, Bank of America, AT&T, and others. Cyber Daily has not been able to verify these allegations.
