Hyderabad: Two young men tragically lost their lives when a vehicle being driven recklessly lost control and collided with their motorcycle near Paradise junction in Secunderabad on Wednesday morning.
The deceased have been named as Y Harshith (20) from Babu Jagjeevan Ram Nagar in Bhoiguda and his friend Devi Pranay (18) from Chacha Nehru Nagar, both working at a pest control firm located in Marredpally.
The pair departed from their workplace after finishing their shift on Harshith’s Harley Davidson motorcycle and stopped to enjoy tea near Paradise Hotel before heading home when the accident happened in the early hours.
According to police reports, after having tea, as they were returning from SD Road towards Bansilalpet, a Swift Dzire coming from Jubilee Bus Station towards Paradise junction lost control and crashed into their motorcycle.
Both riders fell onto the road, sustaining severe injuries. While Pranay was pronounced dead at the scene, Harshith was subsequently declared dead at a nearby hospital.
The Mahankali police have initiated a case concerning negligence that resulted in death and injuries and are currently conducting an investigation. The driver of the car has been detained.
