A motorcyclist sustained facial injuries in a hit-and-run incident on Wednesday in Mission Valley, according to San Diego police.
The incident occurred at 2:25 p.m. when an unidentified driver in a dark gray SUV was heading north on Texas Street, while a 55-year-old man was riding his 2004 Harley Davidson southbound. The SUV executed a U-turn directly in front of the motorcyclist, resulting in a collision. The driver then fled the scene.
The injured motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital by medics, suffering from a broken nose and a significant forehead laceration. Fortunately, his injuries are not deemed life-threatening.
It remains unclear whether alcohol played a role in the accident. The investigation will be managed by the Traffic Division of the San Diego police.
