Harley-Davidson Reports ‘No Impact’ on Business After Suspected Cyber Attack

Harley-Davidson the renowned US motorcycle manufacturer, has responded to allegations that cybercriminals infiltrated its network and accessed the personal information of approximately 66,000 customers.

Recently, the notorious hacking group 888 claimed to have obtained 66,700 entries of customer information following a data breach.

In a post on a well-known hacking forum, it was stated that the stolen data comprises “First Name, Last Name, Full Name, Address, City, State, Zip Code, Email Address, Mobile Phone, Home Phone, Email Preference, SMS Preference, VIN, Vehicle Make, Vehicle Model, Vehicle Year, Sale Date, Warranty Exp Date, Last Service Date, among others.”

888 also shared a sample of the data, which included several lines of information pertaining to alleged Harley-Davidson customers. Cyber Daily could not authenticate the legitimacy of the leaked data.

In a succinct statement, Harley-Davidson stated that preliminary investigations indicate there has been no adverse effect.

“We have conducted a comprehensive investigation and found no evidence of any impact on the Motor Company,” said Harley-Davidson.

“While we continue our investigation, we do not anticipate any change in this conclusion.”

888 is part of the Cyber N—–s group, known for being led by the infamous leaker IntelBroker. The group has previously claimed responsibility for the breaches of several prominent firms, including Shell, Heineken, Accenture, Shopify, and Microsoft ANZ.

However, the credibility of 888’s data leak claims has been challenged in the past, as numerous companies on that list have confirmed that the breaches were either false or exaggerated.

Accenture stated in June that 888’s claims regarding a data leak were untrue, citing only three individuals affected compared to the 32,000 reported, while Shopify denied that any breach took place.

Microsoft also verified that no sensitive information was compromised in the alleged breach.

Conversely, the remainder of the Cyber N—–s group maintains a more favorable reputation.

Most recently, IntelBroker reported a significant supply chain attack on Cisco, claiming to have stolen extensive amounts of data linked to the company and its clients.

The alleged stolen data includes “Github projects, Gitlab Projects, SonarQube projects, source code, hard-coded credentials, certificates, customer SRCs, Cisco Confidential Documents, Jira tickets, API tokens, AWS Private buckets, Cisco Technology SRCs, Docker Builds, Azure Storage buckets, Private & Public keys, SSL Certificates, Cisco Premium Products, and more!”

IntelBroker listed several companies that purportedly “had their production source codes taken,” including Vodafone Australia, National Australia Bank (NAB), Microsoft, Bank of America, AT&T, and others. Cyber Daily has not been able to verify these allegations.

Steven Towers, who operates Harley-Davidson dealerships in North Carolina and Nebraska, will take over the operation on January 14.

The current owner, Mike Patterson, shared the news via a post on Facebook.

“This year, my family joyfully celebrated 75 amazing years serving Harley-Davidson enthusiasts across Northeast Kansas,” Patterson announced.

He mentioned that the business is celebrating this milestone while preparing for a new chapter after many years filled with hard work and family memories.

“After careful consideration, I’ve decided to sell Historic Harley-Davidson,” Patterson stated.

He added that the store has been part of his family’s legacy for four generations, starting with his grandfather opening it in 1949.

He expressed gratitude to customers for their loyalty and passion, stating they have become an “extension of our family.”

“It’s a tough decision to part ways with something that has been integral to my life and my family’s story, but I trust Steven Towers as the next keeper of Historic Harley-Davidson,” Patterson remarked.

“Steven possesses the same dedication to Harley-Davidson and the motorcycle community that has driven us for 75 years.”

Patterson confirmed that the current staff would retain their positions at the dealership and invited customers to stay tuned for future updates.

New Harley-Davidson models are expected to debut in 2026 – and they differ from traditional motorcycles

“To all our loyal customers and friends, my heartfelt thanks! Thank you for riding with us and placing your trust in us over the years,” Patterson expressed.

“Your support has made every moment of this journey worthwhile. I cannot fully convey how much your encouragement has meant to my family and me.”

Many bikers expressed their support for Patterson in the comment section of his post.

“It’s refreshing in today’s world to see an owner express such love, kindness, and thoughtfulness toward his employees and his Community,” one customer commented.

Motorcycle Equipment Tips

BEFORE mounting a motorcycle and heading out, riders need to be aware of the essential gear required for safety.

Riders are advised to protect themselves as much as possible before hitting the highway adjacent to other vehicles.

This means that every motorist should definitely have a top-quality motorcycle helmet that fits well.

It’s also essential to cover as much skin as possible, so wearing pants and a riding jacket is crucial.

Safety-conscious riders may go further by always keeping riding gloves handy and wearing boots while on the road.

Cycle World states, “When justifying spending on gear, ask yourself: What is that body part worth? Then spend accordingly.”

“It’s always bittersweet to bid farewell
but I hope, as you said, the new owner will embody your same caring attitude.”

“Thank you for countless memories,” another commenter added.

A former employee remarked, “It was an honor and a privilege to work under you, Mike! Wishing you and your family all the best as you embark on this new chapter for History Harley Davidson.”

“Many thanks to the Patterson family. I still have my first leather jacket bought from the shop on 6th Street,” another nostalgic customer shared.

Another patron was visibly emotional about the news.

“I’m in tears as I reflect on all the wonderful moments we shared at your dealership,” wrote one shopper.

“Thank you for the beautiful memories and may God bless you and your family in your future endeavors.”

Harley-Davidson Museum (Milwaukee, Wisconsin)

Harley-Davidson Museum (Milwaukee, Wisconsin)

The Harley-Davidson Museum is a North American museum near downtown, Milwaukee, Wisconsin celebrating the more than 100-year history of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The 130,000-square-foot (12,000 m²) three building complex on 20 acres (81,000 m²) along the Menomonee River bank contains more than 450 Harley-Davidson motorcycles and hundreds of thousands of artifacts from the Harley-Davidson Motor Company’s 110-year history. The museum attracts an estimated 300,000 visitors annually. The museum opened to the public on July 12, 2008, on a 20 acres (81,000 m²) site in the Menomonee Valley. The museum was built in an historically industrial area of Milwaukee. Prior to Harley-Davidson’s purchase of the land from the city, the site was formerly used by the Milwaukee Department of Public Works, Lakeshore Sand Company, and Morton Salt. A 4 feet (1.2 m) layer of imported soil was added to combat the contaminated soil. New vegetation was planted to restore the landscape to its riparian state. In late February 2006, designs for the museum were unveiled. The designs were created by James Biber, a partner at Pentagram, his team, and Michael Zweck-Bonner, an associate at Pentagram. Abbott Miller, a partner at Pentagram, designed the museum’s permanent exhibitions. The firm designed the museum over a period of eight years. On June 1, 2006, Harley-Davidson began the construction of the $75 million complex with a groundbreaking ceremony that included legendary Harley-Davidson dirt track motorcycle racer, Scott Parker, breaking ground by doing a burnout with a Harley-Davidson XL883R Sportster, instead of with the traditional golden shovel. The site includes parking spaces for 1,000 motorcycles and 500 cars. The Museum’s facade also features a 17-foot (5.2 m)-tall, steel Harley-Davidson sign. The museum’s galleries permanent exhibitions, spread throughout two floors, in addition to temporary exhibits and the motor company’s archives. The complex also includes a restaurant, café, retail shop, and special event spaces. Also on display are historic Harley-Davidson items that tell the company’s story and history, such as photographs, posters, advertisements, clothes, trophies, video footage of vintage and contemporary motorcycling, and interactive exhibits, including 10 motorcycles that visitors can sit on.

The Motorcycle Gallery
On the museum’s upper level, a procession of motorcycles is displayed down the center of the main hall, running the length of the building, with galleries on either side.

The Harley-Davidson Journey
Along the east side of the upstairs galleries, a series of interconnected galleries exhibit the Harley-Davidson’s chronological history. The galleries relate the company’s history from its origins in a 10×15-foot wooden shack to its current status as the top U.S. motorcycle manufacturer, producing more than 330,000 bikes each year. The centerpiece of the gallery is "Serial Number One", the oldest known Harley-Davidson in existence, which is encased in glass. The glass enclosure sits within a floor-embedded, illuminated outline of the backyard shed the motor company was founded in.

The Engine Room
The museum’s second floor galleries begin with the Engine Room. A Knucklehead engine is displayed disassembled into several pieces. The Engine Room also features several interactive touch screen elements that show how Harley motors, including Panhead and Shovelhead motors work.

Clubs and Competition
The Clubs and Competition gallery includes displays and information about Harley-Davidson’s racing history. The gallery includes a section of a replica wooden board track, suspended in the air at a 45-degree incline. The wooden track features vintage video footage of actual board track races, and attached 1920s-era Harley-Davidson racing motorcycles; the bikes that raced on board tracks at 100 miles -per-hour. Fatalities were common, which led to the banning of wooden board tracks for motorcycle racing.

Tank Gallery
The museum’s upper floor exhibits also include the Gas Tank Gallery, formerly part of the Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary Open Road Tour. The exhibit displays 100 of Harley-Davidson’s most memorable tank graphics, spanning 70 years, selected by the company’s styling department and reproduced on "Fat Bob" tanks.

Custom Culture
The Custom Culture gallery covers Harley-Davidson’s impact on American and global culture. The centerpiece of the Custom Culture Gallery is "King Kong", a 13-foot (4.0 m)-long, two-engine Harley-Davidson motorcycle customized by Felix Predko. The exhibit also features exact replicas of the customized Harley-Davidson bikes ridden by Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper in the 1969 American movie, "Easy Rider", including Fonda’s "Captain America" chopper and Hopper’s "Billy Bike". Two of each of the two choppers were created, and one "Captain America" was destroyed in the film’s production.
