Bikers journeyed from Wales, Northern Ireland, Amsterdam, Switzerland, Belgium, Madrid, and even the Canary Islands to pay their respects to the beloved Chris.

The procession was joined by his wife, Stacey, and daughters, Harlo-Rose, 12, and Haylan, seven, celebrating Chris, a man whose smile “lit up the room” and whose kindness “knew no bounds.”

Over 1,000 riders formed a procession to accompany Chris on his final journey to South Shields Crematorium.

The Hells Angels wore sashes on their signature leather vests, displaying Chris’ nickname, Browny. This impressive turnout caused traffic to come to a halt at Tyne Tunnel to allow the procession to pass.

A rider from Northampton remarked: “This is what we do.”

As Chris’ coffin was carried into the crematorium, adorned with ‘Hells Angels,’ the bikers chanted “Affa!” — a slogan meaning Angels Forever, Forever Angels — connecting the crowd in applause.

During the touching ceremony, it was said: “He achieved more in 37 years than many do in three lifetimes.”

Chris was a supervisor at Smulders in Wallsend and was said to have “lived life at full throttle, a journey not counted by years but by miles. He was not just a biker; he was a legend in motion. His love for motorcycles went beyond passion; it was a way of life.”

The celebrant noted, “Chris often expressed that when his time was near, he wanted to leave on his bike. Nonetheless, he had so much more to live for.”

A fellow biker shared at the service: “He embodied integrity, bravery, and truly embraced the brotherhood in our club.

“His grace, style, and finesse were abundant.”

The Mirror reported that stories about Chris’ life were shared during the ceremony, bringing both laughter and tears from those in attendance.

From a young age, he exhibited fearlessness, with his love for bikes igniting when he was only seven — but it was his wife and daughters who were the center of his universe, where he found immeasurable happiness, as mentioned by the celebrant.

Wife Stacey reflected on her husband, stating: “No one ever had a negative word about Chris. He was genuinely kind and would go out of his way to help anyone. He was a devoted family man, especially to me and our children. The impact he made is why the town is shaken; he was truly adored by everyone who knew him—a real, nice person.”

In memory of Chris, Stacey has pledged to tackle the Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday, June 21, coinciding with the Summer Solstice, to raise funds for Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Charity. As of now, an impressive £16,500 has been raised, reflecting the deep love held for Chris by all who knew him.
