UPDATE: Victim Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ky. – Recent updates have emerged regarding a deadly collision that occurred on Sunday night in Simpson County.

In a statement, the Kentucky State Police Post 3 reported receiving alerts just prior to 7:30 p.m. about a two-vehicle fatal accident in Franklin.

KSP public affairs officer, Trooper Katan Parker, confirmed that the tragic incident took place near the Flying J Travel Center on Nashville Road, just off Interstate 65.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2024 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by 33-year-old Eric Green from Bowling Green, was traveling north on Nashville Road.

Authorities informed that a tractor-trailer driven by Nugusse Yonathan, 29, from Burien, Washington, was exiting the Flying J Travel Center onto Nashville Road when it crossed into Green’s path.

Sadly, Green was pronounced dead at the scene by the Simpson County coroner.

The investigation remains active.

Remains Discovered in Desert Identified as Missing Pahrump Man

PAHRUMP (KTNV) — After over two years, a Pahrump family is finally finding closure.

Daniel Core was last spotted in August 2022, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle near the intersection of Homestead Road and Gamebird Road in Pahrump.

His family reported him as missing in September 2022. Although the Nye County Sheriff’s Office undertook an extensive investigation, leads regarding Core’s location dissipated.

In June 2023, skeletal remains were discovered in the desert outside Pahrump.

After the Clark County coroner and medical examiner’s office were unable to identify the remains, detectives sought assistance from Othram. This Texas laboratory employs Forensic-Grade Genome Sequencing to develop genealogical profiles, which can aid in discovering new leads.
With data from Othram, detectives confirmed the remains were those of Core.

The Nye County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate Core’s disappearance and death as a potential homicide.

Anyone with information is encouraged to reach out to the sheriff’s office at (775) 751-7000. To remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or visit crimestoppersofnv.com.
