On Monday, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio confirmed that the deceased was John Joseph Sweeney, a 50-year-old resident of Bristol.

Authorities reported that Sweeney was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which took place around 9:09 a.m. on Sunday in Washington Township, Lehigh County.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police Troop T Pocono Station, a 24-year-old woman from Perth Amboy, New Jersey, was driving a 2019 Honda HRV southbound in the northbound lanes when her SUV collided with two motorcycles that were part of a group of six.

Sweeney was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson at the time of the crash, according to law enforcement.

The Honda HRV driver suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.

Northbound traffic on the highway was rerouted at the Lehigh Valley exit, while access to the northbound lanes from State Route 22 was restricted. The southbound lanes remained operational on Sunday, according to state police.

An inquest into Mr. Williams’ death was initiated at Shropshire Coroner’s Court at the Guildhall in Shrewsbury on Tuesday, March 18.

The hearing revealed that paramedics and police were dispatched to the site; however, despite their best efforts, they could not save Mr. Williams, who was pronounced dead at the location. His body was identified by his spouse.

John Ellery, senior coroner for Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin, postponed the inquest to be fully heard on July 17 of this year.

Following the crash, West Mercia Police issued a public appeal for video evidence and additional information.

A spokesperson commented: “We encourage anyone who was in the vicinity during this time and may have witnessed the incident, or possesses dashcam footage of either the collision or the vehicles in the minutes prior, to come forward.”
