A motorcycle accident in Lenawee County, Michigan has left one person dead and another injured.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Devils Lake Highway, close to Waters Edge Drive in Woodstock Township. According to reports from the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, a 2023 Harley Davidson FLXSH was traveling northbound on Devils Lake Highway when the driver lost control, causing the motorcycle to veer off the road.
The motorcycle impacted a mailbox, resulting in both the driver and passenger being ejected.
A bystander performed CPR on the driver until emergency medical services arrived; however, the 34-year-old female driver from Hillsdale was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger, a 36-year-old male, was transported to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital for his injuries.
Neither individual was wearing helmets at the time, as per the report.
The incident is still under investigation by the Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team, with assistance from the Addison Fire Department, Somerset Fire Department, and the Lenawee County Medical Examiner’s Office.
