Armed Forces Day: Honoring Our Service Members | News

Armed Forces Day: Remembering Those Who Served

On May 17, we commemorated Armed Forces Day.

This day serves as a reminder to honor the brave individuals from America’s Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force.

In our community, Harley Davidson of Utica held its traditional ceremony to commemorate those who have served.

The family-friendly event was complimentary and accessible to everyone, featuring a color presentation by the Notre Dame NJROTC Color Guard, alongside a 21-gun salute and trumpet taps from the New Hartford American Legion Post.

One veteran from Vietnam, affectionately known as “Wild Bill,” expressed appreciation for being remembered.

He reflected, “When I returned from Vietnam in the ’60s, we were advised to discard our uniforms and blend in with civilians, told to hide our military service. That experience was painful. Nowadays, there’s so much warmth and support for us veterans. I truly cherish that.”

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all members of the Armed Forces for your service.

On May 17, we celebrated Armed Forces Day.

Harley-Davidson Fat Boy “Gray Ghost” Unveiled | Automotive News

Automobile Updates

Harley Davidson has unveiled a limited edition of the Fat Boy named the Gray Ghost, with only 1,990 units available.

The Harley Davidson Fat Boy is iconic, and in homage to this model, they have launched a special edition dubbed the Gray Ghost. This pays tribute to the 1990 model featured in the legendary Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Harley Davidson plans to produce only 1,990 units worldwide, commemorating the year of the Fat Boy’s debut.

Part of Harley’s Icons collection, the Gray Ghost combines vintage charm with modern advancements. It boasts a polished finish developed through a physical vapor deposition process, ensuring a deeper sheen and corrosion resistance. Eye-catching yellow accents adorn the engine, tank, and other trim areas.

Mechanically, it mirrors the standard Fat Boy, equipped with a 1,923cc V-Twin engine that delivers 101 bhp at 4,800 rpm and 166 Nm at 3,000 rpm. The front features Showa forks, complemented by a monoshock at the rear. Additional features include LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and keyless ignition.

The motorcycle’s price starts at $25,399 in the US. Although there’s no word on its launch in India yet, given the limited production of 1,990 units, we might see a few models arrive via the CBU route, albeit at a high cost. The standard Fat Boy currently retails for Rs 25.69 lakh (ex-showroom).

Unique Charity Chopper Unveiled: Raffle Tickets Available Now to Win One-of-a-Kind Bike Supporting Penticton’s Discovery House – Penticton News

Casey Richardson

A distinctive custom-built motorcycle was formally revealed in Penticton on Thursday evening, following months of dedicated work and community collaboration.

Discovery House’s Chopper of Hope fundraiser was announced in January, fueling excitement to witness the project.

This fundraising initiative, brought to life by Bannister Ford Penticton, provides one fortunate supporter the opportunity to own their dream bike.

The 1971 Harley Davidson was crafted by a dedicated team of volunteers, with Darrell Richards spearheading the effort at his motorcycle shop, Sinister Speed Co.

The fundraiser is dedicated to the memory of former Discovery House Executive Director Jerome Abraham, who sadly passed away last year after a battle with cancer.

Board member Jimmy Slimz recounted how he and Richards proposed the idea to the board last year. This led to gathering funds, purchasing a frame, and beginning the bike’s construction.

Castanet visited in February to get a sneak peek at the work done on the rigid frame Springer.

A condition of Richards allowing the use of his shop for this project was that client input would be incorporated.

Slimz, a former client of Discovery House from a decade ago, shared his surprise at the value gained from the collaborative experience.

“They are part of something larger than themselves, which is vital in recovery,” he expressed.

At Thursday’s unveiling, Canadian artist Cameron Whitcomb was introduced as the special guest and celebrity sponsor.

Nearly two years sober himself, Whitcomb discussed his journey to sobriety.

“If you’re seeking sobriety, or dealing with it, just find your purpose,” he advised, emphasizing how music has supported him. “Having something to look forward to helps keep me clean.”

He performed his track Quitter, which discusses addiction and has nearly 60 million streams on Spotify.

Jason Schafer, a Discovery House client, reflected that building the bike reminded him of his childhood alongside his father.

“It gave me something to anticipate each week,” he shared. “The sense of achievement and pride from seeing the final result is incredibly fulfilling.”

The motorcycle, aptly named Hope, was revealed to an enthusiastic crowd. Richards described it as a “moving piece of art representing sobriety and new beginnings.”

The chopper, combining classic aesthetics with modern performance, features:

  • S&S SH93 Engine – Reliable, powerful, and durable
  • 6-Speed Ultima Transmission – Smooth and contemporary shifting
  • Springer Front End – Timeless design with enhanced function
  • Modern Electronics – Newly updated for dependability
  • Custom Seat by Hagel’s Upholstery
  • Eye-Catching Paint by Maxum Autobody
  • All-New Parts throughout

Raffle tickets are available until October 31, 2025. A single ticket costs $50, while a 3-ticket pack is priced at $100. Tickets can be purchased online here, in person at Discovery House or Bannister Ford Penticton, or you can contact [email protected] | 250-328-5142 for help.

Until the bike finds its new owner, it will tour around the community, appearing at local events, including Peachfest and the beach cruise.

All proceeds will directly benefit Discovery House, which offers support for wellness, recovery, and enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing addiction challenges.

The winner will be announced in a draw on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 3 p.m.

Meet the Man Delivering Milk in His ₹70 Lakh Audi | Delhi News

In recent years, Amit Bhadana has taken a unique approach to delivering milk in Faridabad, opting for an unexpected mode of transport — a 750CC Harley Davidson instead of the traditional cycle typically associated with milkmen.

This week, the 34-year-old made an upgrade to his delivery vehicle, now utilizing an Audi A3 Cabriolet valued at Rs 70 lakh for his milk deliveries.

Bhadana, who previously worked at several private banks, operates a family-run dairy business based in Mohabatabad, where they have over 30 cows — located about 10 kilometers from the city. Each morning from 7 am to 9 am, he delivers milk using two large 60-litre steel cans to various neighborhoods in Faridabad, including Sainik Colony, Sector 21, and parts of NIT.

Story continues below this ad

“I began my journey delivering milk on a Honda bike during weekends while studying at DAV Centenary College to support my brother,” Bhadana recalls. “Later, after landing a job, I switched to a Bullet. In 2022, I purchased the Harley.”

After noticing the positive attention he received from customers, especially children, he decided to share a reel on Instagram in January 2023 showcasing his milk deliveries on his bike.

Festive offer

The reel went viral, amassing 3.1 million views, and since then, his popularity has skyrocketed.

“The attention has been overwhelming; I often find myself surrounded for photos and videos,” he smiles.

While delivering milk may not be the most traditional aspiration for today’s youth, he admits to initially having his doubts. “However, I truly enjoy it. Automobiles are my passion, and I also get to support my family,” he shares.

He is not overly concerned about profitability, emphasizing that his delivery method does not lead to losses. “As long as I receive God’s blessings and good fortune, I aim to upgrade to an even better vehicle,” he adds.

Regarding his newfound fame on social media and in the news, he expresses, “It’s quite gratifying and makes me feel like a mini celebrity at times.”

He often attracts attention and receives requests for rides while dropping his brother’s children off at school in his Audi.

Bhadana’s decision to purchase luxurious vehicles met with some resistance at home. “My father questioned the need for such spending, especially when I bought the Audi, but I stood firm, asserting that it was time to pursue my passion, and eventually, they accepted it,” he explains.

He remains discreet about whether he financed any of his purchases through loans.

His father, a retired Army officer, now manages the family’s organic farm and business alongside his two other sons. Bhadana is married and has two young daughters.

From Banker to Milkman: Ex-Banker Delivers Milk in ₹50 Lakh Audi After Harley Ride | Gurgaon News

From Banker to Milkman: Ex-Banker Delivers Milk in ₹50 Lakh Audi After Harley Ride | Gurgaon News

Amit Bhadana, a former banker in Faridabad, has turned heads by delivering milk in his Audi A3 cabriolet. He switched from corporate life to dairy farming during the pandemic, covering 60-70km daily to deliver 120 litres of milk.

FARIDABAD: Every morning, residents in various parts of this NCR city awaken to a unique sight. An Audi A3 cabriolet arrives at different homes, and out steps a man in casual attire. He is delivering milk.
This unusual milkman is Amit Bhadana, a 34-year-old former banker who swapped his corporate career for dairy crates. Amit has transformed his Rs 50 lakh luxury car into possibly the most extravagant milk delivery vehicle in India. Each morning, he covers 60-70km, supplying around 120 litres of milk to homes in Sector 21, Sainik Colony, and NIT areas.

Amit’s transition from banking to milk deliveries began during the Covid pandemic when he helped his brother with deliveries. What started as a temporary engagement quickly became his passion.
“Initially, I used my 750CC Harley Davidson for deliveries, but the heat made it difficult,” he explains. Therefore, he switched to the Audi convertible. “The adjustable roof makes a significant difference. Now, I can enjoy long drives, even with the roof down,” he notes.
At their farm in Mohatabad village, 32 cows and 6 buffaloes provide the foundation for the Bhadana family’s dairy venture.
His father Ram Avtar, a retired Army personnel, oversees the farm, while Amit’s brothers — Lalit, assisting with dairy operations, and Raj Singh, managing events — along with his wife and two daughters complete the family.
Despite daily fuel expenses of Rs 400, Amit isn’t looking for a more economical option. “Every delivery feels like a joyride. I’m indulging my love for luxury cars while honoring our family’s tradition,” he remarks.
According to Amit, his delivery vehicle has gained considerable attention, leading to new requests for milk from various areas of the city. As winter approaches, he plans to switch back to his Harley. But for now, he relishes being the talk of the town — the stylish milkman.
