Over 82,000 Harley-Davidson Motorcycles Recalled

Harley-Davidson Motor Company is recalling over 82,000 motorcycles due to a potential crash risk, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The rear shock pre-load adjuster’s mounting tab may fracture on specific 2018-2024 Softail models, according to a federal notice issued on June 12. This can lead to the rear shock absorber damaging the rear tire, resulting in tire pressure loss.

This malfunction poses a danger of crashes or fatalities, officials stated.

As of early June, Harley-Davidson had not reported any injuries or fatalities related to this issue.

Some motorcycles included in the recall were previously serviced under recall 23V591 and will require a different remedy.

Here’s what you need to know about the recall, including the affected models and how to address the issue.
