A devastating motorcycle incident resulted in the death of a 64-year-old man from Altus on Saturday. The catastrophic collision took place around 4:35 PM on US-62, near the 55-mile marker, approximately five miles west of Snyder in Kiowa County.

The accident involved a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Roger D. Hendrix. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Hendrix was heading west on US-62 when he lost control of the motorcycle, veering off the road to the left for an unknown distance. In attempting to regain control, the motorcycle came back onto the westbound lanes but ultimately tipped over, sliding along the pavement before again leaving the roadway and coming to a halt on the left side of US-62.
