Arthur Stukenborg

Arthur Raymond Stukenborg, aged 88, from St. Henry, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at his residence in rural St. Henry.

He was born on January 30, 1936, in Granville Township to the late Frank & Clara (Schockman) Stukenborg. He married Joyce (Beemer) Stukenborg on September 6, 1958, who survives him at their home in St. Henry.

Arthur is survived by his five children: Steven & Kara Stukenborg of Centerville, Sheila & Mitch Wolters of Mesa, AZ, Frank Stukenborg of Ansonia, Sandee Zanko of Beavercreek, and Jerry Stukenborg of Beavercreek. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and his siblings and in-laws: Francis “Pat” Vondrell, Dorothy Buening, and Thelma Loxley.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, including Rev. Robert Stukenborg, Marcella Reilly, William “Billy” Stukenborg, Margaret Schoenlein, Adeline Reigelsperger, and Leona Knapke, along with his father and mother-in-law, Rollo & Delorius Beemer.

Arthur was an active member of St. Henry Catholic Church. He honorably served as a sharpshooter in the National Guard. A motorcycle enthusiast for over 72 years, he loved riding and restoring old cars, including his cherished 1961 Harley Davidson. He was a lifetime member of the Harley Davidson Owners Group (H.O.G.) and also belonged to the Silver Kings and the Sky Liners Club. His passions included fishing, boating, and traveling.

At home, he relished spending time with his cats and tended to his garden, where he cultivated a wide variety of plants. Arthur was handy and could repair or construct nearly anything. He cherished family gatherings and enjoyed conversations with friends and neighbors.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at St. Henry Catholic Church, followed by burial with military honors in St. Henry Cemetery.

Friends and family may visit from 9 to 10 am on Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. Memorial contributions can be made to EverHeart Hospice.
