VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Officials report that a motorcyclist has died after a two-vehicle collision in Volusia County.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Glenwood and Wilmhurst roads, close to DeLand.
The Florida Highway Patrol stated that the accident involved a Honda Accord and a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Investigators indicated that the collision occurred when the driver of the Honda attempted to make a left turn from southbound Wilmhurst Road onto eastbound Glenwood Road.
According to officials, the driver proceeded from a stop sign directly into the motorcycle’s path, which was heading west, resulting in the motorcyclist colliding with the vehicle’s side.
The motorcyclist was taken to AdventHealth DeLand Hospital for emergency care but unfortunately did not make it.
FHP confirmed he was a 33-year-old resident of DeLand.

The Honda driver, aged 73, also from DeLand, sustained minor injuries, according to troopers.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
