A MASSIVE Harley-Davidson dealership has reopened after abruptly closing its doors for several weeks, with customers’ bikes still inside.
The expansive 30,000-square-foot establishment features over 100 Harley-Davidson motorcycles and more than $3.5 million in inventory.
San Jose Harley-Davidson is situated in San Jose, California, part of the San Francisco Bay Area.
The dealership, one of the largest Harley-Davidson locations in Northern California, ceased operations on December 21, 2024.
“To the Harley-Davidson community that San Jose H-D has served, we thank you for your years of support and shared enthusiasm,” the dealer stated on their Facebook page on the closure day.
It was announced that new ownership would take effect on January 14.
After a few delays, the store officially reopened on January 21, with the prior owner’s endorsement.
The new owners, Mike Genthner and Jess Bettencourt, have been part of the Harley-Davidson family since 1997.
They already operate Oakland Harley-Davidson in Oakland, California, also located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Upon taking over, Genthner and Bettencourt pledged to reach out to customers whose bikes were in the store during the December closure.
They also committed to fulfilling pending special orders, work order deposits, and honoring gift cards.
Both Genthner and Bettencourt, native Californians, have been involved in their family businesses from a young age.
The two acquaintances met in high school, united by their passion for motorcycles and the Harley-Davidson brand.
Genthner and Bettencourt manage daily operations at Oakland Harley-Davidson and actively engage with both staff and customers.
San Jose Harley-Davidson patrons have expressed positive sentiments about the ownership transition on the store’s Facebook page.
“The new owner I spoke with is very customer-oriented,” noted one fan.
“He took my bike from SJ service to Oakland, and they’re almost done after a week.”
“Thank you for continuing to honor the gift cards and maintaining the business,” another commented.
In additional Harley-Davidson updates, customers can now receive an upgrade designed to enhance performance, aesthetics, and sound.
Moreover, the motorcycle titan has unveiled a new special model – specifically for law enforcement.
Laidlaw’s Harley-Davidson, situated near Los Angeles, has recently introduced a Pan America 1250 Special concept bike featuring flashing red and blue lights, multiple saddlebags, and sirens.
This model also features enhanced ground clearance and improved suspension for various terrains.
Additionally, Harley-Davidson owners have been urged to take prompt action following reported thefts of multiple motorcycles.
Harley-Davidson Closures in 2024
There are more than 650 Harley-Davidson dealerships across the United States.
Nevertheless, several locations have closed throughout 2024 for various reasons, often without a clear explanation.
Below is a summary of some Harley-Davidson locations that have shut down this year and the reasons behind their closures:
The San Francisco location closed in June after 110 years due to “chaos” caused by new management.
Miracle City Harley-Davidson in Titusville, Florida, closed its doors in September with no explanation provided.
Harley-Davidson’s iconic location in New York City closed on September 28, with the owner citing economic challenges.
Reiman’s Harley-Davidson dealership in Kewanee, Illinois, ceased operations in October after the owners sold the business to the Walter Brothers Harley Davidson dealership in Peoria, Illinois.
Furthermore, the dealership in West Bend, Wisconsin, is temporarily closing for the season from November 2 until April 1, 2024.

Authorities Look into Deadly Collision on Godwin Blvd
Published 2:10 pm Friday, January 31, 2025
All lanes of Route 10 at 4120 Godwin Boulevard have reopened. Official identification has been confirmed, and next of kin has been notified. The deceased motorcyclist has been identified as 30-year-old Wyatt Austin Brill, residing in the 200 block of Bedford Place, Suffolk, Virginia.
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, at around 6:30 PM, a Virginia State trooper tried to pull over a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle for speeding—traveling at 100 mph in a 55 mph zone—on Route 10 near Five Mile Road, in Suffolk.
The rider, who remains unidentified, did not stop, initiating a police pursuit. The motorcyclist fled eastbound on Route 10 at a high speed, overtaking vehicles over a double solid line. At 6:33 PM, the trooper lost sight of the motorcycle near Kings Fork Road and ceased the pursuit.
At approximately 6:46 PM, the driver of a 2018 Ford Explorer contacted authorities, stating she was driving westbound on Route 10 when she noticed a motorcycle in her lane attempting to evade police. The motorcycle sideswiped her vehicle on Godwin Boulevard, east of Harrell Drive, and continued down Route 10. The investigating trooper, along with the Suffolk Police Department, searched the area for the fleeing motorist and treated the incident as a hit and run. The driver of the Ford Explorer sustained no injuries.
On January 31, 2025, at approximately 12:42 PM, Suffolk PD informed state police that a body matching the description of the motorcyclist had been discovered at 4120 Godwin Boulevard. The unidentified body was located roughly 25 feet from the roadway, down a 40-foot ravine covered in brush.
Currently, state troopers remain on scene conducting investigations. Efforts are underway to recover both the motorcycle and the body from the ravine while identifying the deceased and notifying the appropriate parties. A further update will be released as more information becomes available.

This should be the last oil filter you will ever buy made from laser cut, medical grade, 304 stainless steel micronic filter cloth, this filter provides 200 percent more filter area in many cases. Our stainless filter catches items down to 35 microns, which is about 3 times better than most good paper or brass filters. Unlike glued paper filters, the Flo Oil Filter pleat seam is welded and able to withstand up to 600 degrees. This filter maintains consistent flow under all conditions including extreme heat, the presence of water, and cold start ups where paper filters can flow so poorly that they often cause the bypass valve to open and allow unfiltered oil to enter your engine. This high tech filter technology is widely used in all types of auto racing including NASCAR, Indy type cars, Formula 1 and in the Aerospace industry where filtration is of the utmost importance. In addition to all the other benefits, our filter helps keep the land fills free of old used filters. Cleaning Instructions: Note the original filter position to ensure correct installation. Clean filter at each oil change with solvent, contact cleaner, kerosene, or any other degreasing agent; even common dish soap. Blow air through the filter from the inside out to remove any small particles or cleaning agent from the screen. Lube rubber parts with clean oil before installation. Harley Davidson Limo Bike
MotorBlogCOM
This Harley-Davidson limo challenges the traditional biker image, yet it could very well be the most elegant modification we’ve ever seen.
When you picture a Harley, the clichés come to mind, reminiscent of an episode of Sons of Anarchy.
Bold, rugged, and rebellious.
However, this Harley-Davidson limo departs from that stereotype, showcasing the iconic brand in a luxurious off-white hue that might just alter your perception of it.

Harley-Davidson limo modification could redefine bikers
A Harley-Davidson is the crown jewel of any motorcycle collection – for many, they represent the apex of biking culture.
Nonetheless, the legendary bike brand often serves as inspiration for astonishing modifications – one individual even transformed a Harley into a saxophone.
Another innovator placed a Harley-Davidson engine in an airplane.
Now, someone has introduced the ‘Harley-Davidson Limo’, blending the laid-back aesthetic of the bike brand with a luxurious interior.
This bike modification resembles an unconventional horse-drawn carriage, as if a rebellious Cinderella would arrive at the ball in it.
It was first showcased at the Essen Motor Show, offering ample space for an entire gathering.
Furnished with leather seats for up to eight guests, the cabin even includes an entertainment system and a screen – karaoke, anyone?
The bike limo was initially unveiled in 2012, and since then, it has made only a handful of public appearances.
In fact, its owner remains a mystery, and the current location of this vehicle is unknown.
Some motorcycle enthusiasts have expressed concerns that the forks may not provide sufficient support for this bike modification to be a regular road user, suggesting it might better serve as an art piece in a museum or a dusty barn somewhere.
Nonetheless, we’d love to see it make another appearance. Can you imagine arriving at a wedding or gala in this?
