On Wednesday night July 8th 2009 tragedy struck at Slauson and Crenshaw in South L. A. as a biker known as Davo was riding east on Slauson when a car going west on the wrong side of the street attempting to enter the Arco gas station drive way hit Dave head on, as far as I know he passed away before the paramedics could get to him. Any one with more details as to Daves last name and club affiliation and more info is welcome. A candlelight vigil was held after sun down Friday night July 10.

I needed to be in Salt Lake City for work so I got there Saturday for an Eagle Rider rental. I had the bike 23hrs and did just under 600 miles of exploring. There is much to see and a lot of great roads. I look forward to getting back out there with more time.

Today Sunday 9th September 2018 I attended the annual Grampian Motorcycle Convention held at Alford Grampian Transport Museum .
I enjoy these events, always hundreds of bikes on display , some vintage, classic and current models , well organised and catering for the crowds that attend.
The weather was excellent ,I spoke to many bikers all sharing their love for the bike they had on display , many had 2 or 3 that they owned , however as usual the best part for was capturing all the motorcycles in the parking area, driven to the event by enthusiasts and owners with a love for their chosen Suzuki, Yamaha,Kawasaki ,Triumph etc.
I captured 400 bikes at the convention today , I do not have the time to list their details etc , hence please feel free to comment on any individual bike that you recognise , meantime I will slowly though surely add as much information as I can when I find time .
Whenever in Manhattan, we prefer staying at the The W New York on Lexington Ave. Midtown is perfect for walking to the main points of interest.
I purchased this 1978-1/2 FLH Electra Glide (Shovelhead), in a frail condition back in the early Fall of 1985. It was worn-out. With the help of my mechanic and friend Dave Martini of NW Custom Cycles and my friend Billy Avey from the Seattle Cossacks, we rebuilt it from the ground up. It was a daily drive for me, rain, snow, and or shine for over 17 years in Seattle. I recently replaced the vintage Electra Glide at 92,000 plus miles with a new black Harley-Davidson FLHTPI, – I miss my old shovelhead though.
Vanessa stands tall at 5′-10" and the old Electra Glide at 29" height and both always turn heads wherever they go.
