The forthcoming announcement marks the first series of new motorcycles to be revealed by Harley-Davidson this year.

The lineup will include seven revamped Softail models, featuring a more robust engine for Harley’s Low Rider S and Low Rider ST, as reported by Motorcycle.com.

Besides enhanced engines, the new Low Rider S and ST are expected to be lighter than their predecessors.

A complete revelation of the company’s new and refreshed models for 2025 is anticipated on January 23.

However, Motorcycle.com disclosed that the company’s filings in Australia included a listing of seven vehicle identification codes.

Three confirmed models were concealed with placeholder images labeled “CONFIDENTIAL until Embargo date,” suggesting they are undergoing mechanical upgrades.

These included the Low Rider S, Low Rider ST, and Breakout.

The remaining four identification codes were not labeled.

They encompass FLHC (Heritage Classic), FXBB (Street Bob), and FLFB (Fat Boy), devoid of the “S” designation indicating them as Special models.

The absence of an “S” suggests that the new 114 engine will succeed the 107 as the standard.

New Harley-Davidson models anticipated to arrive in 2026 – and they are anything but typical motorcycles

The fourth code, FLSTFI, was the original 1990 model code for the Fat Boy, further hinting that the 2025 model will be a special 35th-anniversary edition.

A teaser image released on Harley-Davidson’s website displayed a Low Rider air intake marked Milwaukee-Eight 117 High Output.

This indicates that the Low Rider’s new engine may deliver 114 horsepower at 5,020 revolutions per minute, compared to the previous year’s engine which peaked at 103 horsepower at 5,020 revolutions per minute.

The 2025 Breakout is also expected to feature Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine tuning.

Motorcycle equipment tips

BEFORE mounting a motorbike and hitting the road, riders should be aware of what equipment is necessary for safety.

It’s advisable for riders to protect themselves as thoroughly as possible before speeding down the highway among other vehicles.

This means that all riders should definitely have a high-quality motorcycle helmet that fits well.

It’s equally important to cover as much skin as feasible, so wearing pants and a riding jacket is crucial.

Safety-conscious riders can take the additional step of always having riding gloves handy and wearing boots while riding.

Cycle World summarizes it best, “When you’re deciding how to spend your money on gear, just ask yourself this question: What is that body part worth? Then spend accordingly.”

CARRY-OVER MODELS REVEALED

The leaked information comes right after Harley-Davidson disclosed its carry-over models on January 2.

These are the models returning with new color schemes and adjusted price points for 2025.

A representative for Harley-Davidson confirmed to The U.S. Sun that more 2025 motorcycles will be unveiled on H-D.com at 5 pm CST on January 23.

In the meantime, a brand new Harley-Davidson dealership is expected to open in a matter of days.

Nonetheless, the company has faced numerous closures in the past year.

Furthermore, other dealerships, such as a long-standing family-owned dealership, have been sold.

Hero and Harley Davidson Collaborate to Launch New Motorcycle and Unveil X440 Variants
The Harley Davidson X440 was the first result of the Hero-Harley partnership, produced at Hero’s Garden Factory in Neemrana, Rajasthan (Harley Davidson)

This move by Hero is a strategic initiative to capture a larger share of India’s expanding premium motorcycle market.

“The Company has extended its partnership with Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Inc. to introduce new variants of the Harley-Davidson X440 and to design a new motorcycle,” Hero stated in an exchange filing dated Friday, December 27, 2024.

The Harley Davidson X440 marked the initial collaboration between Hero and Harley. This partnership dates back to 2020 when Harley Davidson decided to cease local assembly in India due to insufficient demand, leaving Hero mainly responsible for existing dealerships.

Consequently, they opted to collaborate on a smaller motorcycle aimed at global markets.

Launched on July 3, 2023, the X440 garnered over 25,000 bookings worldwide by August 8. Manufactured at Hero’s Garden Factory in Neemrana, Rajasthan, it starts at 2,39,500 (Ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hero subsequently launched the Mavrick 440, based on the same platform, priced at 1,99,000 (Ex-showroom, Delhi).

Both motorcycles, alongside Hero’s other premium options like the Xpulse and Karizma, are offered through its “Premia” dealerships, as the company, primarily known for affordable commuter bikes, seeks to penetrate the premium sector. Given that the X440 is a Harley, it is also available through Harley Davidson’s authorized dealerships.

However, the reach of Hero’s Premia dealerships has been fairly limited compared to competitors like Royal Enfield.

Nevertheless, the company is expanding the Premia network to over 50 outlets, with a target of reaching 100 by March next year. In October 2024 alone, Hero opened nine new Premia outlets across various cities.

Hero MotoCorp currently holds the title of the largest two-wheeler manufacturer globally, selling 5.62 million units in the financial year 2023-24, reflecting a 5.5% sales increase compared to 5.33 million units in 2022-23.

As for Harley Davidson in India, besides the X440, it offers models like the Nightster ( 13,39,000), Nightster Special ( 14,09,000), Sportster S ( 16,49,000), Fat Bob 114 ( 21,49,000), Pan America Special ( 24,64,000), Fat Boy 114 ( 25,69,000), Heritage 114 ( 27,19,000), Breakout 117 ( 30,99,000), Street Glide ( 38,79,000), and Road Glide ( 41,79,000). All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

YouTubers What The Hales acquired the unit in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2019 and shared the discoveries with their friend Rob.

The Hales are experienced thrifters and showcased the video demonstrating how taking a risk at auctions can yield substantial rewards.

They made an incredible find since it was the last unit sold that day, which meant most competitors had either left or exhausted their funds.

Upon eagerly opening the unit, the Hales were left speechless by their surroundings.

In the center of the space was a stunning orange Dodge Charger, featuring a beautiful black interior and a dazzling finish.

The hood was already raised, leading the YouTubers to inspect it and discover a powerful Chrysler V8 Hemi engine inside.

However, the fortunate buyers were disheartened to find that the exquisite vehicle could not be retained.

“Everything in the unit is divided among us, aside from the car,” George Hales noted.

This was due to the muscle car being tied to a lien; thus, if it was abandoned by its owners, it had to be returned to the creditor.

Although this disappointing news cast a shadow over the buyers, their spirits quickly lifted at what they found behind the car.

Squeezing past the charger towards the back of the unit, the YouTubers stumbled upon a dust-covered Harley in remarkable condition.

Despite its layer of dirt, the vintage motorcycle appeared to have a fully functional engine and had only traveled 150 miles.

While it’s uncertain if it was operable, the Hales realized that the Harley brand is highly sought after, ensuring a potential profit.

They estimated the bike to be from the 1950s or 1960s, speculating that enthusiastic collectors could pay tens of thousands for it.

Valuable thrifting finds revealed

Here are some of the most remarkable thrift store discoveries:

Nevertheless, they were uncertain if it was a rare model, mentioning that they would require an expert for evaluation.

In addition to the motorcycle, the thrilled thrifters also found a car lift that they estimated could fetch them around $2,000.

They uncovered well-preserved film cameras along with a large auto shop sign that could attract antique enthusiasts.

Even though the YouTubers felt gloomy about parting with the Dodge Charger, they left their mark in the dust, scribbling “What The Hales was here.”

Motorcycle fans will be eager to know that new Harley-Davidson models are anticipated to be launched in 2026.

In addition, the beloved brand is introducing advanced safety features for riders on the road.
